Not For Profit Leeches

Hold on to your hat because I’m going to call you stupid! However, you are not alone, as I and most others are right at the same level with you when it comes to understanding exactly how a good part of our hard earned tax dollars are spent. The part I’m referring to is the program that funds non-profit service providing organizations throughout the Country. These self serving special interest groups disguise themselves as so called “service providers” to specific segments of our society and then evolve into political organizations operating on our buck. Sure they may offer some services but that is only to attach them to government money. The true purpose is to push a political agenda that is favourable to their particular cause regardless of laws that don’t permit government funding for this type of thing. The people heading up these groups begin by setting up a non-profit organization with several positions of authority which demand a sizeable salary usually on a par with upper level management jobs. Once they have settled into these comfortable occupations the next step is to establish themselves as an advocate for their particular cause. For instance consider the National Committee on the Status of Women who maintain they speak on behalf of all women. How can this be? Are all women mindless robots who think alike? However they blatantly lobby all levels of government, under this premise, for legislation that they deem favourable to women which may not, in fact, be the case. Now you may argue that everyone has a right to state their position under the freedom of free speech provision in our Country. This is true but they don’t have that right when they are using my tax dollars to do it. Yet if anyone in government tries to cut their funding for this reason they immediately head to the media and complain that their group is facing discrimination. Once the radio, TV and newspapers start repeating their rants over and over the government usually capitulates because they don’t want the bad publicity to translate into votes for the opposition. The politicians don’t care about how your tax dollars are spent as much as they do about getting re-elected. Sadly the media just regurgitates the slanted and sometimes totally erroneous statements that these cause célèbre spout without even a review to determine if they are factual. Consider the Arab group that recently went after the Government Minister for improperly supporting the Jews and Israel over the Palestinians. This is a "government subsidized non-profit service organization" that is constantly spewing “hate the Jews” rhetoric to their members and the media. Once again, they have the right to say anything they want but just don’t use my tax dollars to do it. These folks have great jobs sitting in their “government purchased” office chairs, cashing government cheques to fund their political web sites and propaganda while trashing our Country or Government when it serves their political purposes. Every time you read about the Organization for the Poor, Help for those with Aids, and advocate groups for one cause or another consider the amount of infrastructure and money that is needed to operate the organization. Then pick up the phone, send an email or a letter to your representative in the relevant level of Government and say “STOP THIS INSANITY!” GET THESE LEECHES OFF OUR BACKS”.
