A Failure of Leadership

The way Obama is handling the war in Afghanistan is a clear lesson in the wrong way to provide clear and distinct leadership when a critical decision is required. The true leader regardless of the situation must give his team, army, country etc decisions that are timely, concise and aligned with attaining the ultimate goal. Securing adequate information is always preferable but it must be done in a timely manner. The request for additional troops was made on Aug 30th and here we are in October and no decision has come forth as of yet. Men and women are dying in a battle that cannot be won without these troops according to the expert that Obama placed in charge some short months ago. He continues to meet with a broad spectrum of people in an attempt to either get a consensus or to please his political base. Both of these reasons have no place when making decisions in the heat of battle. In fact they are deplorable. He fails to be concise and thereby raises doubts in those he is supposed to be leading. The original goal was to win the war and drive the Taliban out of the Country. This apparently is being changed because Obama wants to know “what is the strategy?” I thought the extra troops and a surge to accomplish the same thing that was done in Iraq was the strategy? This man should not be worried about politics when soldiers are dying while fighting for their Country but he is just like every other weak kneed leader who is more worried about how he will be perceived than doing the right thing. C’mon who’s kidding, it shouldn’t take 45 days to make a decision this critical. Trying to make it look like an important process by involving everybody that’s breathing in Washington DC does nothing but show his ineptitude. The real problem here is the Liberals dislike of the military. Otherwise why would he make his Generals look foolish by undermining their recommendations and leaving them hanging out to dry while he pontificates? Shame on the whole bunch of incompetent boobs that call themselves Democrats.
