Bipartisan Politics and What it Means

The dynamics between Conservatives and Liberals are much like those between managements and unions. The reason lies in the fact that a union begins negotiating at status quo and moves directly to their position with no thought to considering any management proposals. It is fact that Conservative values have been the base on which this country has been built and Liberalism aims to change those values so their view of bipartisanship is much like the unions in that “status quo” is the starting point. Any Liberal ideas or policies that have been enacted over the years are sacred and must not be touched whether they make sense or are good for the country or not. If a Conservative does not agree with a Liberal then they are deemed to be partisan and confrontational. Liberals however, see themselves holding the high morale ground and therefore if they disagree it is because they don’t want to be regressive and move backwards. To do this successfully they need to have help from the media which is now overtly Liberal and does their job, in this regard, very well. History is rewritten time and time again by the Liberal politicians with no scrutiny from hardly any journalists or media types. For instance this current economic crisis is touted as being the worst since the great depression of 1929 when in fact the downturn in 1982-1984 was far worse than we sit currently. It may get worse but it isn’t now and that’s the point. Have you seen anyone question Obama or any of the Liberal elite in the USA or Canada about this misstatement? Of course not because it isn’t in their script and reality is not important unless it furthers the Liberal objective. With this mounting arsenal of weapons the Liberals push their ever increasing “government control” policies on the Country and try to silence their critics anyway they can without having a proper debate and letting the citizens decide for themselves on the desired course of action for governing in these troubled times. During the last crisis in 1982 Reagan cut taxes and the result set the stage for many years of prosperity for the USA up until the hi-tech bubble burst at the end of Clinton’s term in office. When Bush came in he had to deal with this problem as well as the 9/11 disaster so he cut taxes again and it set the stage for the next 7 years of prosperity which is factually documented. Because the Federal Reserve and other world banks (IMO) kept interest rates so low and the Democratic Congress or the White House refused to tighten the regulations on the US banking industry are the major reasons for this crisis, not George Bush’s tax cuts. If this was the case why would the rest of the world have a similar crisis, they didn’t enjoy these tax cuts. Conservatives cannot be bipartisan if they want to maintain their values and principles because they are always asked to give and never to receive. This is how Liberals perceive bipartisanship and the only time they will change is if they are forced to, under the most extreme pressure. Something like the unions are facing right now. Unfortunately it always takes a disaster before the Liberals move and even then it is not with an admission of failure or the fact that their idea is not the best. No, it is always an unforeseen event that will be rewritten as history moves on.
